Delete your Moonjai account and data

You can delete your account in the app or ask us by email. There is no fee, and you do not need to reinstall the app to make an email request.
Moonjai Education is run by Moonjai LLC, a Washington company based in Seattle, United States.
Delete in the app
- Open Profile → Delete Account.
- Confirm your identity with your password or a fresh Google sign-in.
- Confirm that you want to delete the account.
The app confirms when account deletion is complete. If deletion fails, you can retry or contact info@moonjai.com for help.
Delete by email
Email info@moonjai.com with the subject Delete my Moonjai account.
Include the email address used for the account. Sending from that address helps us confirm it is you. We may ask for additional information to verify the request; we will never ask you to send your password.
We aim to complete deletion within seven days after confirming your identity. We will email you when it is done, or explain any delay or information we must keep.
A parent or guardian who approved a student’s account can use the same process. Email from the address used for approval if possible. Withdrawing approval means deleting the student’s account and its approval records.
What we delete
We remove your account and associated information from our active systems, including:
- Your profile, preferences and permission records, including parent approval.
- Saved exams, uploaded files, generated answers and diagrams, and saved lesson plans.
- Community answers and their images, your votes, reports and block list.
- In-app feedback and AI-answer reports.
- Quiz progress, the Tutor’s learning notes, temporary AI results, and credit and usage records.
What may remain temporarily

| AI provider records | Generally retained for up to 30 days, with longer periods possible for legal or safety reasons. Account deletion does not immediately erase these records. |
| Service and security logs | Ordinary application logs normally expire after about 30 days. Some audit and security records follow longer provider schedules. |
| Support correspondence or specific legal/safety records | Kept while needed for the issue or obligation. We explain any applicable exception where we are allowed to. |
Automatic cleanup can take additional time after a record expires. Your nickname may remain in someone else’s block list. Other people may also have copied or taken screenshots of public answers.
Copies on your phone
Deleting inside the app also runs cleanup of local account data, including saved answers, conversations, tests and drafts. Some device settings and downloads remain, and cleanup can sometimes fail.
Email deletion does not remotely erase your phone. To remove remaining local copies, clear Moonjai’s app data in your phone settings. Signing out alone does not do this. PDFs you exported elsewhere remain your files.
If Google backup is enabled on your phone, saved tests and scheme drafts may also exist in that backup and follow Google’s backup-retention rules.
If you used Moonjai as a guest
Uninstalling does not delete the guest record on our servers. We do not automatically remove abandoned guest records. While you still have the guest session, you can create an account and then delete it. You can also email us for help, though without the original session information we may be unable to find the record. A guest’s block list is part of the guest record: you can remove individual blocks from the Blocked contributors screen, and it is deleted with the account if you create one and then delete it.
